Love is in the Air...and so was the Stench of Death

Well I cannot say enough about how well the Haunted House event on Test is going. Halloween may be ok with temp costumes on live servers but the real fun was had tonight on Test. Az and Co. did a phenomenal job designing a HUGE VG base as a dark spooky maze. The heroes hitting it definitely were at a loss finding their way around. A few toons made it through the maze with great time and fairly unscathed. Then it turned into a typical base raid after folks made their way around...the fight was on. Az, as a guide on her toon Dunizel, even found herself victimized by the loathesome villains of the Isles. A rough crowd, but then again, the heroes had some very solid PvP toons. Typical base raid until...


...A certain AV I am known to have a toon-crush on showed up and decided to sprinkle CoT throughout the base...


...If that wasn't enough, the heroes came around the corner to discover another obstacle in their path...

...Yes kids GW spawned ol dirty drawers himself, Jack of Irons. During the raid the heroes had to deal with him as well and after the raid the villains got to take turns smacking him around. Note how brave I appear on film.


In the end GW handed out some spiffy titles for all the participants and everyone was rather pleased with the fun had throughout the event. If you haven't had a chance to go through it, I highly recommend you give it a shot tomorrow if you can. And pass on to our leader, Az, how awesome she did putting the event on.

Level 4 Fights and Stuff

This Saturday at 4pm pacific on the Infinity server, I will be hosting some level 4 PvP fights. We will be having a free-for-all and then also a Gang War (dress up like your favorite faction (eg: Carnies, Skulls, Trolls, Knives, etc) and win the neighborhood). Level 4 fights are great for leveling the playing field and evening out skill differences! I'll be on Azrionous of the Banished Pantheon! Prizes will go to the top 3 in kill counts in the Free for All. You could win a statue of Statesman or Lord Recluse, a timecard, or a CoX t-shirt! See this thread for more information and sign up!

Don't forget this is the final weekend of the Haunted House and I know some of you are helping "haunt" it with me. Please be on test at 5:45 pm pacific on the day you are helping.

Red Eyed Demon Army

Since our last raid against the Dire Disciples of Chaos, I began talking to my villain super-group and have arranged possible raids in the future. Akhenaten is their leader and I will begin talking with him more to see if I can't arrange some possible dates, etc...

As of right now they are ranked 87th overall but they have never participated in a raid yet, only PvP in places like Warburg and Bloody Bay. Akhenatnen has told me that he would like them to just raid us first (before we start raiding them) so that they can get the feel of it, and so that they get some time to build up their base's defenses. Their base is all show right now and no actual guns to back it up.

So expect the Red Eyed Demon Army to challenge us to a raid sometime in the future.

(FYI, if and when they start the raids I will most likely be playing Spellfrost on the villain-side.)

DB FTW!

Well in a stunning and graceful way, DB stomps Dire Disciples of Chaos by destroying their lair and taking them down in our own house. DB reigned victorious by winning their attacking raid by destroying the generator and then laying pylons down in the vulnerable DDOC base! With Amazingman, Mercy Mercy and Ebon Mauler taking the brunt of the attack, we were able to sweep in and do a bit of cleaning by mopping the floor with the villains. Great job to all!


Round 2 found them invading our base. Tanks gathered in the generator room and the rest of us fanned out and did the dance of face-smashing against our foe. They were able to get a few pylons down and take out the green infirmary, but with 2 in the hizzy, that's just fine! DDOC did a great job and went from a measly 5 to a clan of 12 and were able to do very well against 13 heroes. What a gathering! I was so proud of the SG in coming together and kicking ass! Thanks to: Garl Darklord, Ebon Mauler, Deep, Violet, Amazingman (Earl), Sarah Queen (shatter-storm), Dr. Bowen (what a trooper!), Akima Shinjo (divine), Copykat (Di), Ulti-Chica and Lil Minx! Also thanks to Metoid and to Silicdan for volunteering when we could take no more players. Next raid we are planning for the same time on November 4th. Be there!

I talked to linksys from Bandit's Brigade and we are going to set up another base raid for Sunday, the 14th. My question to you is: what time would work for you? We will be scheduling it between 1pm thru 5pm, so gimme some time in that frame that works for you. I personally would like to do it at 5, but am flexible! There is also a hero group hitting us up who wants to taste the wrath of the hall of death, so bring it on! :) They want to do it on February the 21st.

Triumph stomps Hami

I wasn't able to be there the whole time due to a tournament on Justice that I had to run, but I snuck in to second to last mito spawn. Led by Radiabatz, Triumph has finally beaten Hami. Global Heroics, Fusion Force, and the Wild Cards set this up so there was a big showing by them and lots of other friendly faces were there in the goo. Congrats to Triumph.

Incidently, who took all the EoE inspirations out of the base? I can only assume someone sold them for a pretty penny at WW cause there was no DBers with me last night. :(

Great fun on the Numina TF with Ebon! Today is the mothership raid led by moi. After which, Shatter-Storm has offered up the spelunker badge mission to anyone who needs it.

Mothership Raid - Sunday 11am

Im Alive!

Hey everyone! How have you all been? Ive had lots of stuff going on lately sorry I haven't been around to post or even get on CoH. I should be returning soon HOPEFULLY! Been busy with a move and working and raising the two kiddies. There's only so much a Superhero can do by himself! I miss you guys and hope to see you soon :)

Splatfest Extraordinaire!

Wow! I'd forgotten how much fun base raids were!! I had an absolutle blast and I would like to give a very formal salute to Deep, Zero C and Minx for kicking some serious villain bootie! And thanks to Ebon for showing up, albeit too late to join. :(

We defended first and being our numbers were low, Bandit's Brigade loaned us an ice/emp troller. Things went pretty much by the numbers and we had a good time smooshing them. We only went 30 minutes since I figured we'd only have an hour or so and BB deserved a chance at smooshing us back.

So then we attacked their base. Rough start but we spawned right near the generator. We managed to remove some base defenses and Minx snuck in and hid behind the generator while the remainder of us died to keep her cover a secret! Usually using Azrhiaz in an attack, I am glad to have brought Lumeir. Nothing is quite as delightful as the ol' sand trap and a snowstorm maneuver! The AOE queen was quite the annoyance I'll wager! ha ha! You can't jump up here now, Sucker!

Deep pops elude and tears off into the heart of their base with 4 villains chasing him back and forth. Zero C is beating on the dominators for TKing her and Minx and I are busy with the generator! We go for more distractions and lay down 3 pylons! The generator BLOWS! They are running like mice before the cats! MEOW! But darn it! only 3 minutes left (we opted to do the entire hour). If we'd had Baba's pylon-laying finesse and a few more bodies, we coulda taken that base and spray painted DB all over the walls. :) SO CLOSE!

And no one DC'ed! What a great day! I had SO much fun and am so proud of the team! You 3 did an AMAZING job! Especially with the odds stacked against us, and all those MM pets!

BB would like to get raids going on a regular thing, so stay tuned for the next epic battle! :shakes the can of red paint:

Oh and if you are jonesing for some PvP, Sunday Night Smackdown is tomorrow night at 6pm Pacific. There will be a 5 Fall Last Man Standing event featured, but it's just casual night otherwise. We are 2/3rd of the way to the Fusion Generator so keep killing those baddies! (750 PvP kills nets us the badge)

Hello all, Baba checking in briefly in between mounds of boxes and packing paper. Move is going as well as moves go. We were in a state of panic...we live in the boonies ... like dial-up connection boonies ... like not even newer dial-up boonies. Almost ordered satellite internet but then did some homework and found out it is very bad for online gaming (latency issues). But it turns out our house sits on the edge of Verizon broadband connection, so with an antenna boost, I can pay a small ransom fee to play online again. We should be up and running in about a week or so, might try and take a break from unpacking this weekend if we can. Hope all are well.

A big congratulations goes out to Deep on his winning ticket in the Lottery with Alpha Radiation. He also cleaned up and took first place in the Treasure Hunt sponsored by the Paragon Regulators. Granny VXN tied for 2nd with 3 others with 6 statues and Deep Fryd had 7. If anyone needs a loan, hit him up! :grin: He won 10 million, an HO, and some wings! Lucky duck! The Treasure Hunt had you looking for "statues" all over Paragon with very vague clues to where they were! Was rather infuriating LOL!

Mothership Raid

At 3pm pacific/6pm eastern, there will be a big mothership raid going on as part of Rush Weekend(look for Emerald Fusion's post). I think Catwhoorg is running it, but I will be there doing my best to earn some merits, so look for me! It's bound to go on for a while so come and kick some Rikti butt.

Reminder: Tomorrow (Sunday the 9th) is the official kickoff to Sunday Night Smackdown which is casual PvP event that will be held weekly at 6pm pacific. So if you are bored with the XP grind, come on down and do a bit o' PvP!

Sunny Delight and I are starting a Sunday Night Smackdown which will be a "Come show up and PvP" type of gathering in Pocket D. No time or level requirements at all. It will start on Sunday, September 9th at 6pm pacific/9pm eastern. Our theme will be 2v2s so maybe Melqar and Zandryne can go kick some butt? :) This will be a weekly event so if you can't make this Sunday, maybe the following?

New Powersets for i11

A quote from Positron IIRC:

"Dual Blades was the winner of the "offensive powerset" poll. Psionic Weaponry was second, and Street Fighting was a distant third (but strangely had huge forum support in the discussions).

The winner of the "defensive powerset" poll was... Shields. And we did try to implement this for Issue 11. The only problem was to make Dual Blades as cool as possible, that left us without the time to get Shields done in time for the release. Shields is the single most complicated powerset we will ever do. The amount of animations it involves is staggering. But we DO KNOW you want it. It is on the list of things to get into the game!

Willpower was second place, and a lot simpler animation-wise. Castle had some really cool ideas for it, so it got the greenlight. (Third place was Growth, another troublesome-in-the-engine powerset).

So there you have it. I expanded upon the troubles of Shields a little at PAX, so those of you who caught me there got the full story on that, and probably shared it elsewhere in the forums that I haven't read yet."

Also other DB news, Colder and I have decided to lower our prestige requirements for storage access to 100k. We also may be acquiring a new coalition group in our old buddies, Riders of Apocalypse. More details as this comes in.

In September on Friday the 7th, there will be a SG fair in Galaxy City near the main hall there. We could use some new members so if you'd like to come out for this event, pull on the ol' SG threads and come mix with me. :) The whole weekend will be Rush weekend with lots of activities. Look for the thread in Triumph forum.

Well Shakespeare may have had a bad lawyer day when he went down that road, and I feel his pain. I was trying to organize a charity event in game for some organizations that support wounded troops coming home. To sum up my efforts I will post my email to Ex Libris, who was helping me in this effort:

Well Ex I finally got answers from both charities. They do not wish to have their organizations name, links, or calls for support posted on the game as they feel they would be endorsing this company or its products. In the end it is all typical excuses from lawyers to run away out of fear of potential legal issues. So, my effort to help raise funds for their worthy cause will be a no go. If I wanted to organize an event, say such as a walk-a-thon or a charity run where people pay to participate and the money then goes to them then that is ok. However, if I go online using NCSoft's game to do so (ask for support), well now we have the lawyers involved, or at least on their end. Oh well, this world bothers me to no end at times. Politicians and Lawyers will run us into the ground. Oh well, I tried. Thank you for giving me direction in the effort.

There is a new room in the base! If you go into the generator room, you will find a purple room with 5 enhancement tables. These bins are free for alls, meaning if you find something in there you like, you are free to take it. So if you have any SOs you are willing to donate, stick them in there. M=Magic, U=Mutant, N=Natural, S=Science, T=Tech. Please sort them by origin. If you have IOs you wish to donate, put them wherever. The enhancement bin in the original workshop (where the salvage racks and IO table are) is still PRIVATE. If your name is not on it, do NOT take it. Do we want to reconsider lowering our prestige levels for storage access. Please comment and let's talk about it.

The PvPEC Top Dog duel was quite a bit of fun. Azrharn who is normally quite the lord of the ring in duels got beaten. Won one, but 2 defeats. At least they were by 2 of the winners of the tournament. Sunny did a great job running it.

Today, I will be hosting a free-for-all tourney in Pocket D. There will be 3 divisions of a Super 32, 30 minute timed.

Cruiserweight Division (lvl 38-40) 6:30 SHARP
It is recommended you show up early to reserve your spot. This event will be limited to 32 participants per division. No teaming allowed. This will be a pointed event for a top server prize. Incidently, there will be a Super Heavyweight Division FFA (lvl 47-50) on the TEST server on Sunday, 8/26th @ 6:30pm PT/9:30pm ET.

The below schedule are dates in which a 24 hour Rikti Invasion will take place. You can plan on the event starting at approximately 10 AM Central (11 AM Eastern) on each day and then turning off at approximately the same time the following day. Gravity Storm!

Hey gang!

I'm thinking of making a Grav/Storm Controller for Vi's SG Big Cheese. I was just wondering if anyone had any tips or info to share on the set.

I know Baba has Gravity and Az has an Earth/Storm. Does anyone have any wisdom to pass along? What powers are staples? Which ones should I avoid?

If you are interested in getting your PvP on, they are forming a Triumph PvP League that will run for about 8 weeks with matches being on Friday or Saturday. This will be run at 47-50. I will be joining with Dunizel or RnR so if you'd like to take a break from the Rikti grind, this might be fun. Will certainly be educational, that's for sure!

Repelling the Invaders!

Per COH announcement: The Invasion will be ending Tuesday 8.7.07 as a daily event. It can still be triggered in a single, random zone through player actions, however. In addition, we are planning on bringing the full-scale Invasion event back on random days throughout August and September, and possibly beyond.

I have quite a few toons I'd like to get the psionic resist accolade on. If you are in the same boat, post in the comments and we can get ourselves a little Rikti butt-kicking event going, DB style!

Riders of Apocalypse

Well, RoA has asked if we'd be willing to do a raid with them. Considering I can't get so much as a single volunteer to stand around Warburg for 10 minutes as stalker bait, I'm assuming we won't be able to field much of a team. I never see anyone on that much anymore really, so the thought of organizing this kinda makes me cringe. If you feel otherwise, please let me know.

Charity Event Committee starts here

I am going to try to get a Player Event going with some focus towards the Charities that help the troops that come home with serious injuries. I can hold an event and spam info about the stuff, but I would like to find some way to make this a fund raiser too. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. At the moment, I am mulling a Pocket D event on Test Server, with a Costume Contest and a PvP event, with some prizes from the Wound Warrior Project. BUT at the moment I am funding the shin dig, so, since the Secret Service hasn't paid me yet...that idea is on hold. I am going to send some ideas to Ex Libras who wanted to help out and join. Also gonna contact w00tradio to see if they can get on board.

Lady Grey Task Force

It's Issue 10 and we at last have a new task force! This one is no where near as challenging as the STF but with new maps and a special ending, it's a fun romp through the Rikti War Zone.

It is level 45+ and you can bring hero or villain. Stock up on breaks because you won't be able to leave the zone without breaking the team! It will be held on Saturday, July 28th at noon pacific/3pm eastern.

I will be testing a new PvPEC event that is stalker specific. While I know most of us don't have a stalker high enough (lvl 30), I need some volunteers to be bounties/prey. THe date has not been set, but will be shortly. No PvP experience required but must be of level 30 or higher.

A brief moment for real life...

Not to be a downer, but got news two more of my former USAF members in my last unit got hit with an IED recently, one of them will be lucky to keep his arm. If you have some spare cash, here are some good fund raisers to support guys and gals like him that come home chewed up from humanities ugliness. All politics aside, these people mostly are serving to earn cash, a living, and serve our country and allies. Hard to swallow watching TV with all the back and forth with politicians etc, but having stood by their side, it is true. I am not posting to sway anyones feelings, just looking out for the poor kid who came home facing a new life with a broken body. Anyone need a certain TF going? I have been busy as snot with my new job and had little time to play. PvP has been hard, I took my old comp with me and have had some lag issues in a few of the zones, so not sure if I can dust off 'Roo for the event. But I am game for a group TF if anyone wants to.

Sadly I must inform everyone that due to the fact I am a broke college student I must take a leave of absence from CoH for a bit. Ill try to come back by the end of the month. I shall miss you all until then :(

Monique' and I were the winners of the Novice Deadly Duo Tournament last night :) We had to face Az in the first round and I felt terrible with each slice that hit her, sorry Az you know I love you. Each round got progressively harder as you would think. The third round was pretty tough,I dont remember the power sets, but it was against a Tanker and a Blaster/Corruptor I believe. I got my ass handed to me by that damn Tanker so much I thought for sure that we'd lose the round...luckily for me while I was distracting the Tank by dying repeatedly, Mo was going after the Blaster/Corr and kicking her ass, now thats what I call teamwork. The 4th round wasnt too tough but Mo got all the kills that round. If my focus power was a split second faster I would've gotten the last kill :P But I just wanted to let the rest of you know Mo and I did the SG proud last night :)

RESISTANCE

The PvP102 class is this Friday the 13th at 5pm PST/8pm EST. I will be sneaking in there a bit late and can hopefully stay for a few rounds of the tournament if someone wants to team with me!

I am also running the Gladiator Tourney on Test, and the Justice and Triumph Super Mixed Pentad Preliminaries. And of course, I will also be at the Warburg Brawl. So come on out and keep me company!

Secondly, the PvPEC is ramping up for its next big event: RESISTANCE! For this coming weekend we have 2 events.

July 13th @ 5pm PST PvP 102 class.
This class is geared towards novice/intermediate players and will focus on:

* Buffing on the move
* Avoiding stalkers
* Kiting
* Why FoTMs are FoTMs
* Arena toons, zone toons, dueling toons
- Builds
- Team based strategies
- Format for official PvPEC Events in RESISTANCE

After the class, there will be a practice tourney run so that the students can practice what they learned in a duo type format.

Friday, July 14th Super Mixed Pentad at Super Heavyweight Class (47-50)
A Super Mixed Pentad is a team with 5 different ATs, and a combination of heroes and villains (with at least 2 of each). This event will be run at SHW class and I will be your friendly official. This event will stand as a qualifier so if your team wins, please be prepared to go to Test the following weekend and represent our server in the Finals (same day and time)! Only Tier One inspirations are allowed.

More importanly: the prizes!! On Triumph, you will get long-term yellow titles (for first and second place). I'm not sure exactly how long, but it won't be just a week this time. If you win on Test, well let's just say there's a great prize that they won't allow me to indulge yet.

Currently, Paragon Elite (Sunny Delight's SG) is putting together a team. Who else will step in the ring?

There will be a Warburg Brawl this Thursday (tomorrow) at 6 pm Pacific for those who like to dabble a bit in PvP. The next big event for the PvPEC should be announced soon and I'm happy to report there will be an event geared towards novices!

Well gang I am off to start my new career in the US Government near D.C, hitting the road this Sunday. Mrs Kanoosh, aka Makin Debt to our SG, will be staying back, finishing her Master's Degree. We hope to be a family unit again by summer next year at the latest. It will be about a week or so before I am up and running again, I would think. So until then, remember to fly straight, TP over caltrops, always carry break frees in Warburg and play in SG mode. Hope to be back soon.

Colder has put the deep freeze down on demons and androids. He's traveled to alternate realities. He's saved the Paragon City countless times. However, his reality is about to get a little stranger as he faces down his next villain. We're not talking about Dr. Aeon or some other kind of Clockwork monstrosity. This time, he's fighting family.

"I think I know how we got this way but I'm not happy this is where it went," said Colder, taking time out of his patrols to sit down with us in a quiet cafe in Founders Falls.

You can hear the regret in his voice but also the resolve that this is something he has to do.

"She's been causing problems for a while now, saying it's because of me...that I went on to become something and she had to live in my shadow ever since. I take out villains...plain and simple. If it happens to be family, then so be it."

The words were as cold as his presence.

Colder says he didn't want to make such a spectacle out of it but reasons the arena would be the safest place for the citizens of Paragon City. He says if it's in a controlled environment, there wouldn't be any needless casualties or property damage.

"I know she would love to humiliate me in front of a crowd....beat me down you know? One on one...no excuses. She would love that. This arena challenge works into her ego and allows me to keep everyone safe. It works out for me but also works out for her and her sick mind."

Just how did this super-powered feud come to be?

"She's my cousin and we grew up together, before we had powers, before we had any of this," he says. "One day her powers manifested and she caught me really good in the face. She was sorry at the time and was concerned but deep down I think that's when she really got her first taste of power; she realized she can affect people with her gift and unfortunately she got off on affecting people in a bad way. That trauma happened to jump start my gifts and that's when I realized I needed to protect people from that kind of power and abuse. Innocent people shouldn't be on the receiving end of such power."

His body language begins to betray his emotions as he leans back in his chair and looks past me, almost envisioning an alternate reality like the many he's been to.

"We could have been heroes together...side by side. We could have taught each other so much and done so much good. I don't what it would ever take for us to fight side by side rather than against each other. Probably some catastrophic event for sure. Maybe we can put all of that aside after our match."

We were silent for a few moments. The waitress came and refilled my drink but not before asking the hero for an autograph. She explained that he saved her from a Circle of Thorns ceremony a year ago.

I couldn't tell if he was smiling under the helmet or bothered by her request. I then realized that no one has ever seen him without some sort of covering on his face.

So I asked if the accident he talked about earlier was the reason why he always had a mask on.

At that point, his police band communicator began to squawk and I knew he would be leaving without answering my question. He offered to pay for my lunch, saying that he recently had a windfall at "some auction thing" but I said it wasn't necessary. He extended his hand and I shook it. I couldn't believe it was the same cold hand that has frozen the likes of Dr. Vahzilok. It was the same hand that has touched the gloves of Statesman and Positron. It would be the same hand that will be raised against his own blood this Saturday.

Gladiator Tourney was a LOT of fun!! Thank you to Deep for participating! Big smoochies for him! Having Ex Libris send him something special! Had a fairly decent turnout of 18 and Esh(a MM) won! 98th Engineer (scrapper) was second.




We have one more million in prestige to go before we can attain the first secure plot so THANK YOU to all who contributed thus far! We are also filling up again, so if you have a 50 you no longer play that much or would prefer to make money on, please move them to the Reserve. You can always transfer back for raids. Speaking of raids, would you like me to set another one up? I know the villains wouldn't mind having another crack at it!

I hope you all enjoyed your Double XP weekend!! Anyone hit 50? I pretty much just jumped from toon to toon depending on who I was teaming with. Chuz went from 35 to 38, got a level on Ebriel on Guardian, 5 on a newbie brute, Vazkor on Infinity, and played Azrhiaz the rest of the time to try and hit that million prestiege mark. 50k more to go! However a hearty congratulations to Deep Puncture Wound for making that mark! Way to go! He is officially a Sargeant now in the DB! So thanks to all who earned prestiege this weekend! We are getting REALLY close to having the option of buying the first secure plot! That'll be great for when, and if IOPs ever come back out.

Just a reminder, the "I Got People" Gladiator Tournament is on Saturday at 5 pm Pacific/8 pm Eastern. There will be some CoX swag donated by NCsoft and the community co-ordinators and the grand champion will win 60 days of free game time, courtesty of yours truly! Ok when I was on closed beat the salvage drops were nice with these Rularuu types. I promised Az I wanted to knock out this TF with her and before I disappear for a bit (new job! must move! oh my!) I would like to get it going within the next 7 days or so. Post some dates and times and I will try to firm up a solid spot for it. Throw your name in the hat with a date and time. I would prefer evenings and I am an East Coaster so anytime after 6 pm EST I should be able to make. This would be a late nighter for those of you closest to Japan, so I may flex my time a bit. Alright all you PvPers, I have to say it: I’ve had enough. I’m tired of chasing you all over the zones cause I can never catch up. I’m tired of all the zipping and jumping that makes me dizzy. I’m sick of getting hit upside the head with a range-boosted fireball when I think I’ve made a clean escape. I’m tired of hitting that emp dead-on with a snipe only to see “Unaffected” over her head. I’m sick of being web-naded from my safe spot in the sky, and weary of throwing up last night's meatloaf when I swoop in to nuke a mastermind. I’m tired of tiptoeing into the zone for a badge for an accolade and getting stomped by a big, mean scrapper. Tired of being held, slept, irradiated, slowed, ASed, and I’m so over that hospital. OVER IT! So your time has come and ya wanna know why? Cause I got people.

Yeah, that’s right. You heard me. I got people.

From my travels all over Paragon and the Rogue Isles, I’ve accrued quite a bunch of favors to be called in. So you better watch your back. Come one, come all, PvErs, casual PvPers, badgers, and PvP people! It’s time to level the field! You wanted an event where you could all compete and have a good time and this is it! Get out your Cogs and Button Man Gunners and come on down!

This arena event is open to all levels, heroes and villains alike. We will be running this 1 v 1 unless there is a massive turnout in which case we will do groups of 4 free for alls. Events will be run at the level of the lowest level participant. For example, if you are a 50 paired with a 30, you will run the event at welterweight (27-31). We will run this until there is only one contestant remaining. You are welcome to change your gladiators in-between events.

Prizes! For the first five people to RSVP to this event (and actually show up and participate) you will be the proud recipient of a COH bumper sticker! The last two finalists will win a fine array of really cool COX swag, courtesy of NcSoft and the community coordinators! The grand prize for first place is a time card for 60 days of free game time, courtesy of yours truly. However, the tournament winner will have to face my mastermind, Azrharn's gladiators for a final championship round to get it!

RSVPs definitely preferred, here in this thread or to @azrhiaz. Signups will also be taken in the hour prior to the event. The rules and arena/gladiator how-to’s will be given at the start time, though if you have never done a gladiator event you are welcome to ask for more information in this thread.

Statesman Taskforce Part the Second

When defeat comes, accept it as a signal that your plans are not sound, rebuild those plans, and set sail once more toward your coveted goal.

Back to Statesman on his yacht and inspirations were gathered again as Taskforce Guardian set out to conquer Doctor Aeon in his own laboratory. Barring the way in stood another quartet of Arachnos’ Most Wanted: Silver Mantis, Wretch, Barracuda, and Ice Mistral. Who were all summarily beaten and tossed into the interdimensional paddy wagon before being brought up on charges of assaulting licensed heroes by hitting them in the fists with their faces.

Little did we know that this was a cunning mad scientist ruse worthy of a Warren Ellis diatribe! They had lulled us into a false sense of superiority! One that would quickly come crumbling down in the face of the scientific might that was DOCTOR AEON!

The Doctor is In!

Dang echoes…

Doc Aeon proved to be a brick wall in our on-rush to justice. Despite the use of the power of the Vine Tree, Aeon hammered us but good for three straight tries before we learned to ignore his helpers, versions of himself from other timelines (neat trick), and went straight for the Doc in his shiny hamster ball. And thusly he went kicking, screaming and whining. Silly scientist. You’re facing the Debt Brigade!

The Debt Brigade Prescription... PAIN!

Back to I.P. once more to rally around for the final challenge; a visit to Grandville to face Lord Recluse himself! Legions of Arachnos troops on hostile ground stood before us as well Recluses’ four chief troublemakers. The walking tank-with-a-tail that was Black Scorpion. The flying, sword-swinging, lightning-throwing, endurance stealing, dress-wearing magician known as Sirocco. The razor-toothed threshing machine with its nearly CHEATING amounts of dodging ability that is Captain Mako. And the deadly, death-defying, emo flouncing, harlot of doom better known as Ghost Widow.

Any one of these villains would be a handful for any team. The challenge that lay ahead of Taskforce Guardian was simple in its elegance and deadliness. Engage and defeat all four of Recluses’ front line at the same time, then take him down in his most powerful incarnation ever.

Sounds easy, right?

Riiiiiight….

The Debt Brigade neatly sheared the front halls of Arachnos troops and cunningly set up a stunningly devious ambush for the Deadly Quartet. A single sniper's shot rang out and the trap was sprung.

What happened? Well Exhibit A shows the results.

What the tank sees or SHARK TO THE FACE!

Despite an excellent pull, Guardian ended up with both Ghost Widow and Mako. And the Debt Brigade discovered that just about every wild story spun about about the two of them were painfully true. Make no mistake, Taskforce Guardian acquitted itself quite well and pulled nearly every trick in the playbook, but to no avail. Mako would vanish only to re-appear over the corpse of a freshly butchered comrade while Ghost Widow shrugged off the full measure of Guardian's firepower, occasionally condemning someone to defeat in her spinning tentacles of doom. After nearly an hour of resolute but unchanging fortunes the Debt Brigade admitted defeat. We regrouped in IP and vowed to return.

So we got bored and made some toons on Victory server. We opted to make our own SG, "Band Camp." Make a musical based toon and join the fun. So far the Blues Brothers, Willie Nelson, Chrissy Hynde, Wayne Newton, Ludwig van Beethoven, and Rock Lobster have joined...to name a few. You all are welcomed, your toon just has to be based on a musician, a band, a song, an instrument, or anything to do with music.


Will it help your toons on Triumph level up? NO! But it is fun and we have filled our Triumph server -- doh! This is just for fun and a nice diversion should you suffer from the desire to make a new toon...we all do in our household and until a pile is invented to stop us, I am sure we will strike again.

Phase One Complete

Well after a very stressful weekend on test, Uprising is at last complete! It went over pretty well and we had a decent turnout. Ahne Toreph did okay in the Lethal Lottery on Saturday night. He didn't die much, but he didn't kill that much either. Okay, I don't think he killed anyone, but I'm content with not being face down the whole time! At least for now! Metoid also tried his hand at PvP and told me he was farmed quite a bit. My last match was against him and I had logged on to vent with the team and someone cried out, "That blaster has fly! He's going DOWN!" Movement is everything apparently in PvP and I learned that all the hardcore players have SS AND SJ and if you don't, you'll have a tough time keeping up, especially on the larger maps.

I don't know. To me, hanging out with the SG and coalies in the arena seems more fun than the big zippy leap fest I witnessed on Sunday with Megeara. He and I had some fun gladiator matches near the end of the Showcase, and I had a good time smooshing his level 46 MM with Azrharn. Who knew Meg even HAD a level 46 mm!! He's been cheating on us, all! I guess I don't feel so bad about Tp Foe-ing him into the undead fellas after all! :grin: j/k

Anyway, again, a big thank you to everyone who came out and supported me and the event this weekend. I appreciate it SO much.

June 1 PvP event was a...

...LAG FEST! So then I turned my graphics down to 800 x 600 with only 50% character and world details. ANNNDDD....it was still about 1 fps. So luckly there was Siren's Call instance 2, and it ran great! Plus I saw Ghost Widow and then ran into a mob of heroes and got PWNeD! Why is it every Hero sees a plant dom and rush to gank me first? FEAR! We pwnz them is why! Well Az was there, I know cause she died next to me in a lag battle, and Metoid was actually doing GREAT...he has a nice fly snipe/slug attack that befuddles the ground pounders. Not sure if anyone else made it out, but it was fun...so if you show to the next one remember...go to the newest instance, better frame rates :-) Lots of prizes handed out and of course the yellow titles were abound.
