Cathedral of Pain unavailable

It looks like the Cathedral of Pain trial has been taken offline for technical reasons. Here is a post by Cricket on the official CoH forums boards.

I hate the devs.

Thanks for the post Mag. At least maybe when they get it back up, you'll be available! :D wheeee!

I hope so too. Maybe you all will get lucky and they'll have it back up early tomorrow. Somehow, I doubt it though. They've had tons of technical problems with this trial since they created it.

Oh yeah, I was wondering... If the CoP is offline, does that mean you can raid bases that currently have an IoP in them? I know at least 3 SGs completed it while it was available.

No. Well yes, you can instaraid but that's only a pretend raid so even if you win it, you don't win it. :) They put the CoP up without the scheduled raiding part (since it's so borked) so everyone's IoPs are safe for now.

Secondly, when you schedule a raid (so they tell me), you don't get to pick who you go after. You simply set a time when you want to raid and the system goes in on your server to see who has set their window for that time. The only option I think you get is whether you want to raid a hero or a villain group. Then the defending SG will get a 2 day warning prior to the raid.

Do we set it to allow others to Raid us or is this just a random event where anyone can pick on Groups at will? In other words, can we control the option for others to raid us?

With scheduled raiding, you choose a day and time that you can be raided. Say we choose Sunday at 4 pm. Then someone decides they want to go raiding. They choose when they want to do it. CoH will go in and pick an SG that has that time window selected. The attackers will not know who they are attacking. The defenders will get a 2 day notice saying they will be raided, but they will not know who either. So it's very blind and set by time only.
