Oh boy. I am EXHAUSTED. Super, great, excellent job on the InstaRaid everyone!! You make this grand poo bah very proud! Did anyone get a picture of the stat list? I only got the bottom half. ::pout:: You all KNOW I wanted to frame the picture of my high score in the lobby area! I'm sure Baba has some good screenies. That's why he dies so much. He's always taking pictures! ::grin:: I think we did very well frankly. Especially being outnumbered. Taunted like crazy. Feared like no one's business. And pushed by stupid, fracking bubbles to the ends of the earth! ::curse::
For those not there, we won the instaraid. They only destroyed our elite chill cannon, a sensor array (for the elite energy beam), and one dimensional anchor (out of 6). And I believe they only found 2 of them. ::evil snicker:: All is restored however, since InstaRaids are only practice sessions. Damn good for an hour's worth of PvP, I'd say. I honestly enjoyed myself a lot more than I thought I would.
I'd like to take the time to thank and express my gratitude to Lt. Rage and Alpha Team for joining us. I'm also sorry our chill cannon went off before we were ready to begin but you trashed it before I could even get to see it work, so I guess we are even. :) Have fun looking for the anchors now that our coalitions are allowed back in the base. ::grin::
A few notes on durability of base items. As I mentioned on Vent (to those who have it -- get it, to those who don't), when real scheduled raids go live, we will have a good chance to have everything restored. We will attach a Flame of Hephestus/Robotic Fabrictor to all 6 of the worktables. For the elite weapons, they each have their own resurrector. So if worse comes to worse, we lose an IoP and not much else. In theory anyway. Biggest challenge again, is prestiege and resources. Those third tier tables are costly and suck a lot of control. And with 600k for all those auxilliaries. Sigh.
We might have to get rid of Lucifer. Other than being very handsome, he kinda, well, sucks. I have an elite analyzer which will drop the def/resist of all attackers. Or we can do the Faathim TF again and gain access to the Rikti Plasma Gun which shoots for a whopping 250 pts of damage. For that we need to beat Rularuu the Mad 5 times. I think we have 3 times already in the can (if everyone was in sg mode when they did it). But I also heard there was a new patch and those times might not have counted.
Oh Lord, I'm babbling. Time to sleep. Gimme some favorite raid moments in the comments. And no, you can't talk about my cursing. ::grin:: And Colder, I hope you aren't dragging too much at work today. Muah.

Ventrilo was fun to use and I hope I didn't disappoint anyone with my non-Barry White voice...although I think mine is sexier :P
Best raid moment? Hmmm....that doesn't involve Az swearing like Dennis Leary on an episode of Survivor??? Hell, that was THE raid moment!!!

Sorry Az, no pics, my Zboard gaming keyboard hosed me. Turns out it had a new driver and so I hope it fixed its recent bugs. Metoid had changed the default to another game and I forgot to change it back so that may be another cause. Zboards rock in game play so I hope this is fixed.
My favorite moment was when someone said CEASE FIRE. Thats is when the red words under my health bar that said TAUNTED, HELD, CONFUSED, TERRORIZED, and SUCK all went away. Controllers are not well loved in PvP. I have been reading the boards about how brutal controllers can be and that they should be nerfed. As a controller, I wish I knew what they are talking about. But Omni let me know now what it means to control. I think I just picked a great mission toon in grav empath, but it is not a good PvP set. My wife's tank, Makin Debt, at lvl 14 held her own in the match, so that further holds my belief Baba isnt a good PvP build. So my Peacebringer is coming to the next one.
A very, VERY good question would be--When we do get to wreck their house?
Well Baba, I think you are underestimating yourself. A grav/emp troller may not be a killing machine, no. Controllers are support toons. They just don't have the damage capability. Seems like the trollers on the other team were more responsible for deaths than their scrappers were.
My suggestions to you:
Stay near the tank. They can taunt people from hurting you hopefully. My toughest moment was trying to kill Chica in the infirmary and Templar Fire Knight had his taunt spamming. As soon as I had her in my sites, away it went. I couldn't hit tab fast enough!
Know your targets. Don't try to "hold" a tank. Or a scrapper. Their defenses are built to resist that. Go after the squishies. Not me of course, but if they aren't known for their durability, they are yours for the taking. A blaster may be high damage, but tanks and brutes, I will always ignore until they are the only ones left.
Do you have the leadership pool? Tactics is a troller's good friend.
Do you have the concealment pool? Take invis and use it. Whenever I died, as soon as I rezed, I turned it on. That way the campers couldn't get me in the infirmary. Getting pwned by a scapper? Turn it on. If they can't see you, the can't beat on you anymore. Take a page from a stalker's book. Sneak up behind people and smack 'em a good one!
Please don't compare your survivibility to that of a tank, Baba. Level 14 or otherwise. All the tanks had the least amount of deaths. And always will. However if you want to work on your PB, I'll grab Lumeir or somebody and we'll do some arena matches.

THe number of times I hit the deck isn't the most aggravating, it was the lack of impact I have in any PvP area. Slow animation times for my powers, the limited number of holds I have (breakfree elim.s most of my offerings) and a secondary power set that is designed for missions vs. PvP leads me feeling lame. It wasn't just in the Raid, it is in all the PvP zones. I have respec'd poor baba soo much he doesn't know if he is coming or going. After reading the boards, Grav controllers don't seem to be very popular choice for PvP. So I will just have to work on my alts and tailor them towards the PvP powers ets with defense and damage as the name of the game. I may tinker Baba since he is my only 50 I can use in the high zones for now. THe attach yourself to a tank tactic worked well, when Omni wasn't blasting me into a corner for Templer to smack me around.
Enough of my whining. One tactic I must praise is your base base building Az, you did your homework. The offense was slowed heavily by the camoflauging of the objects. Very, very good work, It will be a strong point for us. As frustratng as the event was for me, I want to do it again. Mainly because we had a great showing and I enjoying teaming with our SG. Playing against friendlies didn't hurt either. Mondaag, what toon di d you bring? I dont remember seeing Mondaag there...
As for Colder...listen up Benedict calling out you want to join Alpha after the battle is weak brother. Just cry and whine like I do after you get your can handed to you.
Much love to all. It was fun. Well no, it wasn't fun sucking but it was fun in a Mayhem mission sort of way. I am whining again, so I am signing off on Baba and his weaknesses in PvP. For good. Next topic is we need to plan on how we lay the smack down on the defenders.
They will park their windy, bubbly toons to repel us. I will try to wormhole them to a tank so they can be taunted into oblivion. That is all I got fo tactics now, but I am ready to try it out.
PS Chica...HOLY CRAP! You are nasty! Thankfully you team with us more than you do against us lol. The only chance I had was when I caught you without any breakfrees, I got my one kill to avenge the 4 or 5 you had on me. I may just dump my dark/dark scrapper and make a spines/regen now.
Mondaag is currently not in the CoX world from my understanding.
Well, I am sorry you feel Baba is useless. As you and the rest of the team knows, BFs run out eventually. I learned that unless I am in danger of dying, I try not to use them and rather wait for the effect to wear off.
If you choose the jumping pool, and get acrobatics, you will be more resistant to holds and have knockback protection. So Omni can't get you next time. :) And I thank you for the heals which allowed *me to keep killing. That's a good effect as far as I'm concerned. ::smile:: And Chynna saved my butt too. Maybe we should run in pairs next time? A lot of the time I felt very solo and we did better when we teamed up on people.
Thank you for the compliment on the base, Baba. I *have done a ton of reading on it. Much of the data says to have low ceilings. Having an SG full of fliers led me to beleive the opposite. And in PvP, how often do people look up? Not often. That's why they couldn't find the other anchors. They were all the way up top by the ceiling and hidden by lights. And melee can't reach them! MUAH HA HA!
In time and with practice, we will be killed less and less. They did kill a lot of us a lot. But we were outnumbered also. We did good. As I said, I am very happy with the raid.
And I have a plan for the Alphas. They'll be crying like babies when we are done with 'em!
Should we get a team uniform too? ::smile::

I also want to say how cool it was---great time!!! I almost wanted to be on Ventrilo with u all but figured some other time =) especially after Az gave me the finger (assuming in a loving caring sorta way ;))

Dang it, typed a whole post and my computer hosed it...sigh! I'm sure it was better the first time around. :) For anyone who doesn't have it, vent came in very handy in this event...I've loved it in missions too! Of course we did get frustrated (as we all do) and it's probably not a good idea for the kiddies (lol)...the sighing and grrrring was all mine and possibly a few other words...hehe!!
As for Baba, cut yourself some slack man! We are trollers...not tanks. :) I died so many times I lost count (fortunately the stats reminded me it was 12) and I only killed one, which wasn't even me it was my pets. lol I didn't even try to attack, pointless...I tried to spam heals and clear mind and keep the pets coming, especially fear (that ones a blast...evil laugh). Gravity has some good holds too. Now I'm trying to figure out the best way to make a bubbler, they were awesome!! As for a spines, I have a spines/invul and she's a killing machine, but give her some fear and she's a weakling. :)
