Thanks to all who came out to the Warburg event. 'Roo and myself looked very smart in our brand new SG uniforms. I also saw Tat in it! So handsome! :) Warburg was a bit quiet, but word spread quickly and soon the PvPers arrived and mayhem ensued. We did very well for not having PvP builds and I must admit I was really impressed with how super everyone did! I got my Warburg time badge and a good time was had by all.
Death Vs Debt! This Saturday at 5:30 PM Pacific. Are our villains more powerful than our heroes? We shall soon find out! If you haven't already RSVPed, please do so, in game or in the comments!
Sunday is Safeguard Day! If you need or have a SFG mission that you want to donate to our 50s speak up! I have KR, Steel, Sky, and Bricks saved on some of my toons. I can probably get FF if necessary as well.
Oh and if you found this post too boring, here's another interview with Positron about I9. Betcha didn't know the consignment shops were cross-server, did ya?

Yeah, I was REALLY suprised to see that. I had no idea that kind of tech was available. This does open up a ton of possibilities for cross server community development. Not to mention with a little smarts, you could bank roll brand new toons across other servers if done right. :-D
Cross-server?? Very cool. I did not expect that!!
OMG the bugs...I can't wait. This will make issue 7 look tame. I love this game but historically they release issues totally filled with glitches. THis one just wreaks of GRIDLOCK! Man I miss that Saturday Night Live skit, for that matter I miss Phil Hartman too. I digress. Just like this issue 9 will too. I must go my glass is half-empty.
But on the glas is half-full side Warburg was a fun event. We did pretty well, but that place is a mad-house. Some highlights were Az calling out targets and then the Coalition members shouting...Az he is on our side. Then Az coming to the realization that our Coalition had basically taken over the zone. Fighting some of those toons makes me realize the value of Hami-o's. Doesn't motivate me to go through that mess every night though---weee three DC's, lag like Atari is back and all I get? damage/range...see Az's remarks on her LRSF lol.
cross server sounds interesting until there's some sorta hiccup and we all end up on the victory server. lol Dr. has the same idea as me...if we can bid cross server can we bankroll cross server? hmmm If they list something and we bid an outrageous sum they get it, more hmmmm's. After all the update bugs in the last two issues I'm hoping we all survive i9! :)
Well I think this would be a great way to get inf across servers to our lowbies on Justice and Guardian (and wherever else). However, my guess is that say you have your alt list a lvl 1 acc TO for 500k. How do you know that you are buying YOUR alt's lvl 1 TO when you offer a million for it? I imagine the system will make you purchase the one that's the "oldest" and you could be giving your money to some stranger on Infinity. So then your alt might possibly lose his listing fee and you've lost a million inf. Geez, and you can't even write it off on your tax return!
Oh and here is a post from Positron regarding cross-server inf transfers:
Player A1 puts up a Level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Player B1 puts up the same Level 12 TO for 1,000 inf.
Player A2 (trying to transfer funds) offers to buy that level 12 TO for 5,000,000 inf.
Since player B1 wants less, and is obviously trying to move his items faster, his "for sale" is processed first, so he ends up with 5,000,000 inf (minus fees).

Yup, just read that..., not suprised at all really, so yeah, good for them.
So then I could attempt to intentially underbid items to gain influence--then have issues with it if I don't...I heard WoW is a mess from systems like this...lets just say the new Lord of the Rings MMO may be capturing my attention in the future. WOOT for hairy feet!
You can probably talk to Cap about LOTR. I know that's got his attention also.
Okay, just weird, how do they know whose trying to move their product faster? How do they make that judgement? What if they are both listed at the same price, now who gets the money? I'm guessing then your plan would involve getting something listed that no one else has on at the moment...but if you can't tell whose selling what how do you know how many there are for sale? On WOW they give you a suggested sell price based on the last auctions, the way to drive up the price of an item is to list extremely high and then relist it a bit lower (even though it's to high for the item) then it shows up as a bargin, stupid, but at least you know whose selling what for how much before you bid. I don't like thought of offering $5 mil for something that your willing to take $1 mil for because I overbid, just sounds wrong to me. Go ahead a make the names of the players blind but at least let me know the min bid for it.
Apparently Chaud, before you bid, the store gives you 5 recent examples for what that items has sold for, so you can base your bid on what it's sold in the past for. So if you are bidding on Carnie boots, you'll be able to see that the last 5 pairs sold for between 10,000 - 50,000 infamy and can place your bid accordingly.
I think that's what I read anyway.
Well carnie boots...I'll earn 10 mil for those. :D
so if you wanted to drive up the price of an item, you just list it high and sell it to your alt over and over until the last 5 prices are extremely high? lol Of course it would be a huge pain in the butt and a major waste of game time, but I'm sure there's some bored 12 yr. old that will try it. :)
I think, well at least for me, the auction system is just something I'm gonna have to see for myself.
And unprofitable since you would get smacked with all those selling fees. Just like real life! :gag:
