Jello, Bubbles and Bosses -- oh my!

Well yesterday I went on my second successful Hami Raid since i9. Here was a result that wasn't uncommon. It took a little over two hours and I came away with an acc/mez HO. All in all, not a terrible experience, but I think once the technique is more commonly known, it'll go faster. I raided with HUB (Heroes United in Brotherhood), which is a channel I was invited to awhile back. Good people and a great resource to build teams from.

As requested, I have put out the feelers for another base raid. Link (AKA Dotenshi, Phantom Breeze) from Bandit's Brigade and I have tenatively set up Sunday, May 18th @ 3pm pacific/6pm eastern. How does that sound for everyone?

We should have a contest. I don't know what the prizes could be, but maybe you have suggestions? I think we should rename the various ranks of the SG. Sound fun?

As a blaster and usually a player of squishie characters, I don't usually get a decent look at my enemies. In the past, I have brought you pictures of Dr. Vahzilok and Clamor and now, for those of you who haven't seen her up close and personal, Countess Crey. Somehow I never figured she'd look like a librarian....

Welcome Ace of Kane!

Just a quick post to welcome our newest member: Ace of Kane!

I wanted to run over to get a screenshot of him but I was in Crey's Folly and he was in some far away zone...yeah, I'm that lazy :P

Him and I were left over in a PUG...we were soon joined by Chica, Dirka, Cap, and some of our other crazy compatriots so suffice it to say, I was impressed he stayed for the entire time. It says something about his character and/or insanity!

Welcome to the SG Ace of Kane! We're a nice bunch and we hope you enjoy your stay but unfortunately, pending further SG policy, we don't leave a mint on your pillow everyone morning :D

How about it fellow DB'ers? Any tips/hints/secrets that he should know about in order to thrive in the SG?

Tip #1: "Always play in SG mode damnit!" - Azrhiaz, copyright 2006

Tip #2: Using a base telporter without pants on is frowned upon. My apologies gang...I'm still sorry about that...

Happy Earth Day!

Dunizel and some participants from the Intro to Base Raids class

I wanted to run the Numina TF or the Eden Trial today but got called into work and it turns out I won't have the time! But maybe Sunday night? Gotta celebrate Earth Day with the DE, that's for sure!

Speaking of trials and taskforces, have you ever wondered about the different IO pools? Certain things in the game will yield different results on drops so if you've ever wondered, here is a link that will tell you what recipes are in which pool so you can streamline your efforts (and keep your fingers crossed!)to get that recipe you are looking for!

Tomorrow there is an exhibition match between Triumph Ladder teams, Old School and Paragon Elite. If you've ever wondered what high end arena PvP looks like, come on out and observe the matches. This will be happening Sunday, April 20 (tomorrow) at 6pm pacific/9pm eastern. After the matches, I'll be hosting some kickball and perhaps the teams will join in for a bit of fun. Kickball, if you do not know, is simply an arena match that chooses two captains. The captains take turn picking who is on their team until all players are picked. So if you are looking to test out a toon, please join me in Pocket D!

Positron Speaks!

NCsoft NorCal Studios is pleased to announce the pricing and details for the coming Optional Additional Character Slot feature. As we previously announced, we heard the request for a system to allow more characters on a single server and this is our answer. City of Heroes is a unique game that offers many playstyle options; options that are growing in a large way due to Powerset Proliferation and the addition of the Villain Epic Archetypes in the next free expansion, Issue 12: Midnight Hour. To accommodate playing more characters on your favorite server, we will be including the following features in Issue 12:

All current subscribers will receive 2 free character slots, each of which can be used on the specific server of their choice. This is to help you make new characters to take advantage of the new features of Issue 12, even if you already have maxed out your “home” server’s character slots.

1 free character slot will be granted retroactively on a yearly basis through the current Veteran Reward system. Every 12 months that a subscription is maintained will unlock an additional free character slot that the user can apply to the server of their choice. Thus, existing players will be eligible for up to 4 additional character slots at the launch of Issue 12. This will continue into the future for Veteran Rewards given out every 12 months, so you get another slot for 5 years, another one for 6 years, etc.

Additional Optional Character Slots will be available on a purchasable basis. These are one-time fees, not an addition to your monthly subscription rate. The additional slots can be had at the following price points:

• 1 Optional Character Slot for a one-time fee of $5.99
• 2 Optional Character Slots for a one-time fee of $9.99
• 5 Optional Character Slots for a one-time fee of $19.99

Players can have up to 36 slots per server, with an update to the character selection screen that lets you re-organize your character list by Drag and Drop, as well as easily flip between up to three pages of characters available on that server. All customers benefit from these great new User Interface features included with the revisions for Optional Character Slots.

The above features are planned to be made available at the launch of Issue 12: Midnight Hour, which is currently in closed beta testing. Be sure to check out this feature, along with the rest

Like a bull in a Crystal shop

Cast and crew of a very well done Eden Trial. Please note that no fleas were picked up on anyone's fur during the making of this Trial (Although Woodsman WAS itching alot).

This bad guy is big. Like NBA center big is small compared to him. This was the best shot I had taken without chopping his head off. Well we did that after we beat him, but I digress.

Well another Trial has come and gone, this time the old Devouring Earth got smacked around. We went into a dark hole in the ground, then it was light, then we went in another dark hole, and then it was light...whoa this Trial is turning out to be "X" rated.

In the end...ok not a good segue after that last joke, hmm umm, ok when we were all done, we had fun and had a few spare ambrosia inspirations to boot. If you have never done the Eden Trial before, go to our SG base, teleport to Eden and you will be at the contact for this puppy. It is fun and one of the more unique Trials/TF/SFs in the game. And grab a spare ambrosia or two in the storage BEFORE you go (doh!).

By popular demand...

It was at this exact moment that Limited Visibility noted the desire to have the temp snowball power.

...Then the Debt Brigade saw him. Hannibal Lecter said, "Ready when you are, Freakshow Tank," stated in a slow methodical voice only serial killers can be comfortable with.

Yeah that was a nice long TF, spanned over 24 hours it did. We took our frustrations out on the tanks, medieval style. We all were humming, "Your own, personal, Freakshow..." Seriously, dude has cartoon mallets for hands...how does he wipe?

Sweet Sixteen!

Phantom Breeze (Dotenshi/Link), Skyline (Colder), Thurrisaz (Az), Eduardo Foster (Baba), Limited Visibility (Makin' Debt)

It was a wild and chaotic romp through the sewers to finish up the Sister Psyche TF! With only support characters and a warshade, we were hard pressed to defeat the Freak Queen, but we did! Colder was probably dizzy from switching back and forth from lobster to squid when Phantom Army(s) were down! Baba super long DC kept us safe in a bubble and we made it through, got our recipe and a few levels along the way! Congrats to all on a job well done!

I'd also like to congratulate the supergroup on moving into the #16th ranked position for prestige earned on the Triumph server! Congratulations! There's not a ton left I can do with the base, so if your 50s need money, please don't feel guilty playing out of SG mode (did I just say that?!?). But it would be nice to keep your lowbies in SG mode as long as possible. Also, keep them logged in! Our 30 day inactivity kick is still in effect. So make sure to keep your toons happy in their home and not on the streets, alone and resourceless! :)

Riders have approached me on another raid. We have some neat toons being leveled that would be great in raids. Any suggestions on when we'd like a rematch?
